Migrant Ministry

Our work among the Migrant Workers is a church planting effort among the migrant workers employed in Malaysia. The hope is that with the proper training here in Malaysia the church planting effort will continue in their towns and villages when they return to their own country.

We are busy with ministry everyday of the week and could be even more involved if we had a larger staff. We do home visitations, some visits are for the purpose of Bible studies and some are just friendship evangelism depending on where they are in their walk with God. On the weekends when the workers are most available we have meals together on Saturday and Sunday nights, we have an English class and on Sunday mornings there is a teaching here at our base. Sunday there is a Vietnamese Service with a local church. The attendance at these services is growing steadily and therefore there is always a need for more workers for follow up.

We are also involved with practical areas of their lives: advocacy, health issues (making sure they see a doctor/dentist when one is needed), banking issues if necessary (help with sending money back home to families), visiting with families when we are in their country and many more. Long term we would like to see a center set up where they learn skills to get a better job when they return to their country. We would like to do some computer training, business skills in running your own little shop, and practical skills to improve their lifestyles. Possibly even a micro loan operation.

There are also times for just relaxing and enjoying each others company. We try to have special events about every 2 months (sometimes more often) some of those events include a Mid Autumn Festival, Christmas Celebration, CNY, Easter and we also have organized sports events, and camps to share the gospel more fully. We welcome all who would like to join with us in spreading God's love to our neighbors from the region.
